MY PEOPLE ARE WEEPING

Some art is meant to comfort. This piece is meant to witness. "My People are Weeping" holds space for the ongoing grief of systemic injustice, of lives lost, of potential stolen, of communities exhausted by having to prove their humanity again and again.
But within the tears is defiance. We weep, and we survive. We mourn, and we continue. The title is both lament and declaration: yes, we are weeping—and we're still here, still creating, still demanding better.
The mixed media layers represent accumulated trauma—generation after generation—but also the way we've alchemized pain into art, protest into progress, grief into grace.
